Giannis’ journey began humbly, playing for the youth teams of Filathlitikos before bursting onto the scene with the Milwaukee Bucks after being selected 15th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft. Alongside race walker Antigoni Drisbioti, Giannis led the Greek delegation during the opening ceremony making him the first Black athlete to bear the Greek flag for the Games.
