Who is David Balogun?

David Balogun is a remarkable nine-year-old boy whose brilliance is catching the world’s attention as one of the most genius black kids in the world. Born to Nigerian parents, Henry and Ronya Balogun, in Pennsylvania. David is already making history as one of the youngest high school graduates. Did I hear you say “Wow!” Yeah!

His parents, who are authorities in the medical field, noticed early on that their son was no ordinary child. He had a deep curiosity for science and technology, particularly in computer programming.

In 2020, during the pandemic, David’s education took an exciting turn when his parents enrolled him in Reach Cyber Charter School, an online school that focuses heavily on STEM subjects. In less than three years, he completed high school with a GPA of over 4.0 – an achievement that many do not reach in their teenage years, let alone at nine!

But David’s story goes beyond his academic success. He’s got big dreams and a vision for his future. Inspired by the mysteries of space, David hopes to become an astrophysicist. “I want to study black holes and supernovas,” he said in a 2022 interview. His love for the cosmos shows just how eager he is to explore what most people only read about.

Outside the classroom, David is just as driven. He’s training for a black belt in martial arts, proving that his determination isn’t limited to books. He also enjoys building robots and spends his free time watching videos on everything from astronomy to physiology, fueling his already vast curiosity.

In 2022, David was awarded the Distinguished Student Award by the Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education, celebrating his incredible achievements at such a young age.
