Christopher Chukwunta is a Nigerian-born Canadian-based businessman. He holds a B.Sc in Civil Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka,  and an M.Sc in Systems Engineering and Innovation from Imperial College, London. He is the vice president of International Renewable Energy Systems. This start-up was established to provide and promote clean energy in homes and industries by the year 2050.

Chris’s vast experience in energy and engineering has put him into the limelight, as his remarkable achievements are notable and commendable. His passion for clean energy and climate change motivated him to volunteer in organizations such as the United Nations, Commonwealth Sustainable Energy Transition (CSET), and other youth mentorship programs where he supported implementing and developing feasible energy transition strategies. As a believer in good things, Chris believes in the possibility of achieving a sustainable future via energy. This prompted him to support the Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Initiative (CSCI) and its partners in establishing the Declaration of Sustainable Urbanization, and the agenda was adopted by all the Commonwealth Health of Government.

This feat has brought him recognition within and outside Canada, both locally and internationally. Some recognitions include affiliated technical reviewer for the United Nations, the Commonwealth Engineers Council (CEC), and the Sustainable Development Advisory Committee (SDAC) member.

He led a team at the World Federation of Engineering (WFEO), an international body recognized by the President, policymakers, the United Nations, and the Conference of Parties (COP). WFEO comprises over 30 million engineers and encompasses engineering institutions from over 100 countries, including Nigeria.
